Tandem Currency – Support

Tandem Currency is a currency converter and private travel expense journal from Digitalhope Ltd. Convert between 43 currencies, compare fees and keep your trip budget in view.

Need help? Email support@digitalhopeltd.com. Include your iPhone or iPad model, iOS version, app version, the screen involved and what you expected to happen. A screenshot can help, but remove personal details first. We do not need bank credentials, payment-card details or a copy of your travel journal.

Why does my bank show a different amount?

Tandem uses Frankfurter’s daily reference rates. They are not intraday trading prices or guaranteed exchange quotes. Your bank, card issuer or exchange provider can use a different rate and add fees. Check fees estimates the effect of percentage and fixed charges; compare the final offer from your provider before exchanging.

Why is the rate dated earlier than today?

The date is the source observation date. Weekends, holidays and provider schedules can leave the latest published observation a few days behind. The app shows when it uses saved rates and flags older observations. Connect to the internet and choose Refresh rates to check for newer data.

Does Tandem work offline?

Once rates have been fetched, the app can use its saved cache offline. A first installation needs an internet connection to obtain rates. History also needs to have been loaded before its saved data is available. Offline values retain their original reference dates.

How do fees work?

The fee estimate deducts the percentage fee and fixed fee from the source amount before converting the remainder. The fixed fee is in the source currency. Providers may calculate their charges differently, so use the result as an estimate.

Why does an expense keep its old conversion?

Each entry saves the reference conversion used when you added it. Future rate changes therefore do not alter your spending history. Your home currency remains fixed while the journal contains expenses, so its totals stay consistent.

Why is Apple Intelligence unavailable?

Natural-language interpretation depends on an eligible device, Apple Intelligence being enabled, a supported language and the on-device model being ready. The app explains the unavailable state. You can still use the normal converter or enter an exact request such as 120 EUR to GBP in Ask Tandem. Check the preview before applying it.

How do Siri and Shortcuts work?

Look for Tandem’s Convert currency action in the Shortcuts app and supply the amount and two three-letter currency codes. The action returns a number and a response containing the rate date. You can also use the registered Siri actions when the system makes them available. Siri language and availability are controlled by Apple and your device settings.

Where is my data stored?

Your saved conversions, preferences, budget and expenses are stored on your device. There is no Tandem account or developer-operated cloud notebook. Your device backup settings may include app data. Read the Tandem privacy policy for details, including rate requests, support email and user-chosen sharing.

Appearance and language

Open Settings in Tandem to choose System, Light or Dark appearance. Tandem follows your device’s language and regional number format. Its Language & region action opens iOS Settings. Interface translation and Apple Intelligence language support are separate capabilities.

Price and requirements

Tandem Currency is free at launch, with no subscriptions or in-app purchases. It runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 26 or later. Apple Intelligence features require an eligible device and supported system settings; the standard converter does not depend on Apple Intelligence.
