Letterbrook – Privacy Policy
Effective 23 October 2026
Summary
- We collect nothing. Letterbrook doesn't ask for your name, email or any account, and it doesn't send us any information about you or how you play.
- Your progress stays on your iPhone. Your story, stars and settings are saved in the app's private storage on your phone.
- No internet needed. Letterbrook has no networking code. The wordbook, illustrations and sounds are built in, and the game never connects to a server.
- No adverts, no analytics, no tracking. The app contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting software, and does not use cookies.
Who we are
Letterbrook ("the app") is published by Digitalhope Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for any personal data described here. Contact: support@digitalhopeltd.com.
What the app stores on your iPhone
- Your story: the chapters you've reached, the stars you've earned and which power tutorials you've seen.
- Your current game: the board, your score, your moves and the words you've played in the chapter you're on, so you can carry on where you left off.
- Your settings: whether sounds and haptics are on.
This information is saved in a small database on your iPhone and is never sent to us or anyone else. Letterbrook does not sync to iCloud. Your iPhone's own backups may include Letterbrook's progress; those are covered by Apple's privacy policy and your iCloud or computer settings.
The words you spell are checked against a wordbook built into the app. They are not sent anywhere.
Purchases
This version of Letterbrook has no in-app purchases or subscriptions. If you download it from the App Store, Apple handles the download and we never see your name or payment details.
Information from Apple
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may give us crash reports and statistics about how the app performs. They don't identify you, and we use them only to fix problems. If you test a pre-release version through TestFlight, Apple may also share crash reports and any feedback or screenshots you choose to send, under Apple's TestFlight terms.
Who we share information with
No one. Because Letterbrook doesn't collect personal information, there is nothing for us to share or sell.
How long information is kept
Your progress stays on your iPhone until you remove Letterbrook, which deletes it from your iPhone.
Your rights
We don't hold personal data about you. Everything Letterbrook stores is on your iPhone. If you have a question about your privacy or your rights under UK data-protection law, email us at the address above and we will reply within one month. You can also contact the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Permissions
Letterbrook doesn't ask for any permissions. It does not use your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or health data, and it doesn't send notifications.
Children
Letterbrook is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, for example adding in-app purchases or iCloud sync, this page will be updated and the effective date changed before the update is released.
