The story

What sets it apart

  • Undo for anything that’s yours

Caches that macOS rebuilds are deleted. Your own files go to the Trash, and History can put them back. Every file is checked again just before it’s removed, and a dry run shows what any tool would take.

  • It cleans up after developer and AI tools

Xcode and simulator data, package caches and build folders, plus the worktrees, transcripts and model caches AI coding tools leave behind. Worktrees go only when git says they’re clean, and Duplicates leaves copies inside git projects unticked.

  • One scan for every tool

Mac Manager indexes the disk once and keeps the index up to date as files change, so the storage map opens instantly and every tool works from the same picture.

  • Private by design

No analytics, no tracking and no account. It goes online only to check a subscription with Polar, once a day, and to check for updates.

  • Outside the App Store on purpose

The App Store sandbox can’t see a whole disk or tidy up after developer tools, so Mac Manager is signed with Apple Developer ID and notarised by Apple instead.

Descriptions

Words you can quote

Click a description to select all of it.

In one line

Find space, clear the junk and watch your Mac’s vital signs. Carefully, with undo.

Short, about 40 words

Mac Manager shows where your disk space has gone, clears what your Mac can rebuild, and keeps an eye on CPU, memory and battery from the menu bar. Anything that’s yours goes to the Trash first, and History can undo it.

Longer, about 230 words

Mac Manager is a disk, cleanup and system monitor utility for macOS 27. It indexes the disk once and keeps the index up to date as files change, so its twelve tools always know where the space has gone. A live storage map shows every folder, biggest first. Large & Old and Duplicates find big, forgotten and duplicated files, including similar photos. Cleanup, Developer and AI Apps clear caches, logs, Xcode and simulator data, package caches, and the worktrees and transcripts that AI coding tools leave behind. Apps uninstalls apps with everything they left behind, Tidy sorts Downloads and the Desktop, Offload moves rarely used files to another drive after checking every byte, and Monitor shows CPU, memory, disk, network and battery in the menu bar.

It’s built not to delete the wrong thing. Caches that macOS rebuilds are deleted, while anything that’s yours goes to the Trash and can be undone from History. Files are checked again just before they’re removed, a protected list covers system files, app data, keychains and photo libraries, and a dry run shows what any tool would remove. There’s no analytics, no tracking and no account.

Mac Manager is free to download, and scanning, the storage map, Large & Old, Duplicates, Monitor and History are free to use. Cleaning needs a subscription: £19.99 a year after a 14-day free trial, on up to three Macs. Until 31 December 2026, the first year is £9.99.
