What the app does
Ratio is a personal unit converter and measurement tracker. You build a dashboard around the conversions you use most and the measurements you want to follow over time.
- Dashboards that start from the Everyday, Kitchen, Travel, Fitness or Workshop templates, or from a blank canvas
- Small, wide and large cards you can drag into place, resize, duplicate and remove, with converters and trackers on the same dashboard
- A focused converter with a custom keypad, unit pickers, swap and copy, and a ruler scrubber with haptic feedback
- 12 categories and 82 units, including separate UK and US volumes, feet and inches, stones and pounds, pounds and ounces, and hours and minutes
- Trackers for weight, height, waist, distance, run times or a measurement of your own, with dated readings and optional notes
- Charts over a month, a quarter, a year or all time, with optional projections two weeks, a month or three months ahead
- Light and dark mode
- Everything stays on your iPhone: no account, and it works offline
Frequently asked questions
How do I add a card?
Tap Add Module on your dashboard. Tap one of the popular converters to add it straight away, or under Build your own pick a category, any two units and a size. The new card is added to the dashboard you are looking at.
How do I move, resize or remove cards?
Tap Arrange and drag cards into the order you want, then tap Done. You can also touch and hold a card for a menu to change its size, swap its units, duplicate it or remove it.
How do I create a tracker?
Tap Add Module and switch to Trackers. Tap one of the popular trackers, or choose Create a Tracker to pick a measurement, a name and a unit of your own. Open the tracker and tap Log Measurement to add a reading, with a date and an optional note.
What happens if I change a tracker's unit?
Choose a different unit next to History on the tracker. Every reading you have already logged is converted and shown in the new unit, so you can switch from kilograms to stones and pounds without losing anything.
Why don't I see a projection?
A projection needs readings on at least three different days spanning a week or more, and your latest reading must be from the last 30 days. Turn a projection on by choosing 2 weeks, 1 month or 3 months on the tracker.
Is a projection advice?
No. Projections are simple straight-line estimates drawn from your past readings, to show which way things are heading. They are not medical, health or fitness advice. If you are tracking your weight or health, speak to a doctor or another qualified professional about your own situation.
Does Ratio need the internet?
No. Ratio works entirely offline. Conversions are worked out on your iPhone and nothing is downloaded or sent anywhere.
Is my data backed up? How do I move to a new iPhone?
Your dashboards and readings are kept only on your iPhone. Ratio has no account and doesn't sync to iCloud, so the only copy outside the app is in your iPhone's own backup. To move to a new iPhone, set it up from an iCloud or computer backup of your old one. Removing Ratio deletes its data, so make sure your iPhone is backed up first.
